این سد غول پیکر، طرحی عظیم و با شکوه‌است که برای جلوگیری از طغیان‌های طویل ترین رودخانه ی جهان یعنی نیل ساخته شده‌است.این سد به برقراری جریان مداوم آب در تمام طول سال کمک کرده‌است و نیز برق کارخانه‌ها و شهرهای کشور مصر را تأمین می‌کند. Read further
